Randhir Kapoor has always been a private person in Bollywood. So, he was really surprised recently when his daughters Karisma and Kareena suddenly pulled him out from his comfort zone and insisted that he should have an account on Instagram. In an exclusive chat with ETimes this evening, the senior actor who made his Instagram debut yesterday revealed, "It just happened and it was entirely Lolo and Bebo's decision (as the Kapoor sisters are fondly called). Kuch stock mein pictures padhe the, unhone account bana diya aur laga diye, bas."
But Randhir finds himself in a predicament. "Now, Lolo and Bebo are saying that I ought to learn how to handle my account by ownself. But I am not tech-savvy at all. Mujhe bilkul nahi aata," he said candidly. So how will he handle it, we asked? "Well, whenever I want to post, I think I shall ask Lolo and Bebo to shortlist some pictures and send it to me. I shall choose from them and ask them only to upload," Randhir replied.
Has any actor called him after he made his entry on Instagram? Has wifey Babita said anything? "Well, what will they say and why would they say anything?" Randhir said as a matter-of-fact.
Social media has become toxic by the day. Is Randhir wary of trolls? Pat came the reply, "No, no. I am not here (on Instagram) to make statements. I like my peace. I am happy in my space. My Insta will be just fun." The very fact that Randhir maintains social distancing from social media is explained by the fact that he still likes to get his news not from his phone via digital platforms. "I still read newspapers," he asserted.
Randhir concluded by saying that he is delighted that Timmy (that's what he calls his grandson Taimur) is soon going to have company. "No preferences, daughter or son. We just want a healthy, happy child. And, let me tell you that the entire khandaan is looking forward to this (Kareena is due in February 2021)."
